NEWS ARCHIVE 2002

23/12 2002: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

We want to wish everyone a nice Christmas and a very happy new year. As some of you have noticed, we have a poll in the albums section. The results up to this date is that Redhanded is on top with 27% of the votes, closely followed by Storyteller with 21% of the votes. At the bottom is Intermission Troldhaugen with 4%; maybe because it's a departure from Mads' usual repertoire. We are confident that the new record, scheduled for spring/summer 2003, will turn out to be Mads' best album. Until then, you can still vote. See you next year!

09/12 2002: PREVIOUS RELEASES AVAILABLE!

Good news to all of you who have desperately been trying to get hold of Mads' earlier albums: his first four records Journey (1990), Storyteller (1991), Intermission Troldhaugen (1993) and M.E (1994) has recently been reprinted and are distributed in Norway through BareBraMusikk. If you live outside Norway or for other reasons have trouble finding the records, let us know and we'll help you.
This should be good news for those of you who have been asking for these CDs on this website. Many of you have requested Storyteller in particular, which is Mads' most successful CD to date, and it was elected as "Album Of The Month" in Guitar Magazine in june 1992 (see review in the stuff section) and received 5 stars out of 6 in the German edition of Metal Hammer. M.E was picked by Guitar Shop editor Pete Prown as one of the Top 5 guitar albums in 1994.

30/09 2002: RECORDING POSTPONED, MORE CONCERTS

The recording of a new album with Chris Thompson and Mads Eriksen, due to take place in Auckland, New Zealand in november 2002, is postponed until march/april next year. They are currently writing material for the album, which will also include a version of Thompson's smash hit You're The Voice. Chris Thompson has so far not released his own version of this song, which was a worldwide hit with Australian singer John Farnham in the mid-80's and the biggest hit ever in Australia with 22 weeks on top of the charts. Chris Thompson will tour with Mads Eriksen Band in Northern Norway in November and also appear on National television (NRK).

All the things that don't quite fit in the other categories will be put here. The guestbook is now easier to find and the equipment section is now dubbed gear. Why? The word gear just sounds more rock'n roll than the word equipment...

27/02 2002: MAIL PROBLEMS

Tiscali, our webhost, is upgrading their equipment. This has led to problems with our mail (and lots of others). In fact, we have not been able to receive any mail at all for the last 6 days. Very annoying of course, but these problems are now fixed.

23/01 2002: OLD ALBUMS

Unfortunately, some of Mads Eriksens old cd's are not possible to get anymore. Mads is investigating the possibility of making a limited number of these albums available through this website. Of course this depends on the demand. If you have some requests or questions regarding this, please e-mail Mads or leave a message in the guestbook. For those of you haven't noticed yet, the guestbook is in the contact section. Also, there are rumours about making a new record with Chris Thompson later this year...
